Tallis TV was first kicked off with a week of intensive training for the team courtesy of student ambassadors from Ravensbourne College of Design & Communication. The students also had a chance to visit the college and its professional level broadcasting studios.

Tallis TV works under the remit given to the BBC, which is "to inform, educate and entertain" and is a democratically organised, student run, news magazine production team that broadcasts online fortnightly.
